U-11 through U-19 Riverside Soccer Club's ultimate goal for competitive players is to reach the highest level of play that includes; knowledge, skill, responsibility, commitment, sportsmanship, and loyalty which builds character. Riverside wants our players to succeed both on and off the field.
Competitive soccer teams play two seasons, Fall and Spring. The Spring 2009 competitive season runs from March through May. The season includes ten scheduled games along with a weekly practice schedule determined by each individual coach. Players are assigned to teams determined by tryouts. Tryout dates for Fall 2009 season will be posted as soon as they become available through CSYSA and the Riverside Board of Directors. The potential player's coach and/or manager will contact you shortly after tryouts to determine the year's practice schedule which include; practice times and dates, fees, tournaments, etc...
State Cup and tournaments are very important to Riverside's development of our competitive players. Each player is given the opportunity to play at their potential and level of play. These tournaments help the player become a better player outside of league play and expose them to the best competition U.S. Soccer has to offer. NOTE: State Cup and tournaments are determined by the coach and team. CSYSA determines league schedules.
Our competitive coaches as well as our club coach teach technical, tactical, fitness, and knowledge to our players. The key to success is driven by will and being mentally and physically prepared for every game, practice, and training session. It is our hope that our players get the most out of playing competitive soccer with Riverside to help them prepare for the game of life.
