COLORADO STATE RECREATIONAL SYMPOSIUM 2009.

 

Sam Snow returned to Colorado to present our Recreational Symposium this past August. Sam is the Technical Director for US Youth Soccer and was hereto offer his services to help educate our youth coaches. We also had some of our top staff on hand to assist Sam.

 

On arrival each coach received a full coaches packet including DVD’s. After checkin and continental breakfast, coaches went into classroom sessions with Sam, Richard Weston and myself.

 

The afternoon sessions began at the Stenger Soccer Complex, with the TOP Soccer sessions. TOPSoccer is the outreach program for soccer. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to anyone with a mental or physical disability. Special thank’s must go to Luann Levine Colorado TOPSoccer chairperson and her coaching staff, Bobbie Jo Beeble, Jill Polito and Stacy Hyde.

 

The final sessions were conducted by Sam, Richard Weston and myself to see the day out. We concentrated on age specific coaching styles. The coaches who attended, and 16 clubs were represented, commented on the enlightening experience and helpfulness on some new approaches.

 

A great day was had by all.
