Riverside Renegades U17 Girls Undefeated in North Carolina C.A.S.L Showcase

Riverside Renegades flew across America to take on the best at the CASL North Carolina National Soccer Showcase.  Coached by Richard Dell, the girls arrived in Raleigh and everyone was excited to be there.  Richard Weston, DOC, said "This tournament represents the best of the best coming together and showcasing their soccer talents.  It's nice for Riverside to get on the national soccer map through this group of talented young ladies."

The girls played three games going 1-0-2 and head coach, Richard Dell, said "Results are one thing, and as we didn't lose, it shows we can compete with the best.  What was more encouraging was the number of college coaches who came to watch us play, after all this is what Showcase events are about."

The team also visited the University of North Carolina with a personal tour of the campus, dorm rooms, cafeteria, gymnasium, stadiums, soccer fields.  They also spent some time at the famous fountain on site, The Old Well.  The legend (dating back to the 1800's) says if you drink from it, you will achieve a 4.0 GPA and have good luck the rest of the school year.  All the girls had a drink from it, pictured below.

The team now looks forward to potentially playing in Vegas early next year and then going back to High School for their soccer season.  Well done ladies on a great weekend and representing Riverside Soccer Club.
