SWIC Food Drive
On May 8th, 2010, the Riverside Soccer Club is hosting its first annual food drive to benefit the Southwest Improvement Council (SWIC). Nine teams will compete to see which team can gather the most nonperishable food to benefit hungry families in southwest Denver. This event will take place from 8:00am to 5:00pm and is open to the public. Anyone can donate nonperishable food to SWIC. Drop by the Riverside Soccer Complex at Ft Logan anytime on Saturday May 8th. For more information about this event or to make a monetary donation contact Ron Cardenas at 303-934-0923 or Cindy Charlton at 303-898-7965.
Your donations will be used for the sole purpose and benefit of families in the Denver Metro area and surrounding areas. Our project goal is to provide a continuous inventory of healthy foods for our community and help all families who are in need of food. Please consider supporting the Riverside Soccer Club Food Drive for SWIC.
SWIC is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to serving frail and isolated elderly, at risk youth, and overwhelmed families in urban southwest Denver. SWIC operates a food bank and provides donations to an average of 200 families every week. After many years of service, SWIC's food bank is more important than ever as the current economic recession has left thousands of Colorado's families in financial crisis.
